Planning and Prioritising: Part 1
Giving Time to the Things that Really Matter
So you want to use your time better? You’re probably feeling overloaded, over-whelmed, over-worked – and a few other ‘over’ words! This is Part One of four modules dedicated specifically to helping you Plan and Prioritise your time better.
Attendees at my courses and speeches around the world list Planning and Prioritising as one of the main things they constantly struggle with. Think of these four modules as Time Management 101 – once you get your planning and prioritising mastered the many other aspects of improved productivity become much easier to learn and implement.
Some Pointers for this Course
This course is a combination of readings, video, and written activities. Each module is designed to be quick, punchy and take no longer than 20 - 30 minutes. (This will vary depending on how much time you choose to invest in background reading and reflective writing.)
The Value of Taking Notes
I do encourage you to take notes in the downloadable workbook, or your device of choice.
Even if you’re not used to writing your thoughts down, I urge you to do so at least while you’re working through this topic. For almost everyone, writing is a great way to reflect on what you really want to achieve. It also gives you time to reflect on traps you might be falling into.
Extroverts don’t know what they’re thinking until they hear themselves say it – writing down is a great alternative. If you recognize yourself in that description, get your words on paper first. Your introvert buddies will thank you!
Introverts sometimes carry too much in their head. If you’re in this camp, writing down your thoughts will unblock the drainpipe of your brain. You’ll be freer to get on with the next astute analysis of whatever you’re working on.
